support scholars and encourage scholarship among high school seniors at
Asheville High School (AHS) and the School of Inquiry and Life Science at
Asheville (SILSA).

The North Carolina Community Foundation is honored to partner with fundholders to administer hundreds of scholarship opportunities across North Carolina. We currently manage nearly 150 scholarship funds for individuals, families, school systems and organizations in the counties we serve throughout North Carolina. All our scholarship opportunities are made from specific funds with criteria established by the original donor.

Dewine Family Scholarship

Dewine Family Scholarship
We are looking for the applicant that can handle college but slipped through the cracks of scholarships and needs some financial assistance. We are not looking for the straight A student. More than anything we want to help make college a reality for someone. It's $5,000 for up to 4 years payable directly to the educational institution. Community college and vocation schools are also eligible. 

Usually available in late April/Early May.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church Scholarship
Must hold at least a 2.75 and must demonstrate financial need - $1,000 annually

King Law Firm
King Law Gives Back is a college scholarship program.  This program began in the Spring of 2017 by the partners of King Law.  It is our goal to invest in our local communities while encouraging and developing the next generation of professionals.

$1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Western North Carolina or Upstate South Carolina graduating high school senior.

INCORPORATED Scholarship Program 

There will be two (2) $1,000. Scholarship awarded.  

Organization sends email in April with paper application and instructions.
Ione M. Allen Music Scholarship 

The Ione M. Allen Music Scholarship This scholarship is for one year only; however, current recipients may reapply and be considered for additional funding along with other new applicants.
Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time

NC foundation for Soil and water conservation

Careers in Conservation Scholarship Program 

The goal of the program is to increase the number of qualified people committed to working in the field of natural resource management, thereby supporting the mission of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.  Scholarship recipients will be students who are currently pursuing or have firm plans to pursue a college degree in natural resource management or other closely related fields.  $1,000 per year is rewarded and renewable in future years.

WNC Communities

George H.V. Cecil Journey Scholarship, a program managed by WNC Communities. The scholarship is available to students who live in participating communities across Western North Carolina.

 

Starting earlier this year, the scholarship is now a four-year renewable award. Last cycle, we awarded several scholarships at $1,250 a year and a Premiere scholarship at $2,500.

The next application period begins January 15th, 2024 and closes on March 18th  

Students must have applied to a four-year college or university for the
scholarship year. A copy of the acceptance letter from the four-year college or university must be submitted with the application by the applicant to the
Scholarship Committee.

Resides in Buncombe County or the surrounding area and plans to graduate by
June 2024.
